K.Flay is by far the most promising girl rapper that I’ve ever heard. She’s got a fantastic flow and has a knack for great samples and beats. Released for free in 3 parts, I Stopped Caring In ‘96 has only 9 tracks but they feel like more because of how important every track feels. From dealing with depression because of the death of her father to comical, party tracks, K.Flay is a fantastic rapper and singer and I eagerly await he next EP to drop next year. I would have loved to see her live, opening for Grieves & Budo, but alas it wasn’t to happen. Give K.Flay a chance and pick up some of her other stuff on her website, here.
Key Tracks: Less Than Zero (feat. The xx), Nothing At All (feat. ESG), PARTY (feat. The Black Eyed Peas)
